The NFL, which took over one year to put to rest a matter concerning
the inflation of a football, had no problem responding quickly to the
request by the Dallas Cowboys, honoring the city's fallen officers who
were assassinated when responding to a 911 call. The NFL refused the
request to wear decals!
Referring to its "strict rules", which we can only assume have been
written on the equivalent of Biblical tablets, the NFL said it would not
alter its policy.
This is coming from the NFL which respectfully recognizes Breast Cancer
month by exempting its 'strict rules' so players can adorn themselves in
anything 'pink' they can conjure up, from labels on the helmets to their
shoe laces, and anything in between.
Surely, a one year exemption to honor the five lost lives could easily have
been approved.
It should take more than to simply say its "strict rules" when the request
is more than a frivolous one often granted.
But, if not, why not? Why would the league which has a storied history
of patriotism and support of law enforcement and the military not honor
this request.
Only Roger Goodell, the NFL commissioner, can answer this question, but
doubt he would.
As a gesture of support for the Dallas police, the fans should stay home
on the Cowboys first home game. Such a gesture is more meaningful for it
shows the league THEY care to honor the police, even if the NFL cannot,
due to its 'strict rules'!

Conservatism’s Transformation into Trumpism
I offer this response to the titled article written by Ben Shapiro which you can find on this National Review link:
http://bit.ly/2avPW0V
Shapiro has been blasting Trump ever since he defeated the field of challengers for the GOP nomination. Ben is not alone. Trump is not a conservative, nor is he a liberal. But where is it written someone must be a conservative to be the GOP nominee?
Shapiro has been blasting Trump ever since he defeated the field of challengers for the GOP nomination. Ben is not alone. Trump is not a conservative, nor is he a liberal. But where is it written someone must be a conservative to be the GOP nominee?
As Limbaugh accurately points out Donald Trump is not an ideologue, he's a businessman whose strength is problem solving.
The political class doesn't comprehend the electorate do not care about
political leanings, only fixing problems which our current crop of politicians
have failed to do.
To address what Shapiro writes:
To address what Shapiro writes:
Will Trump "destroy conservatism"? Before Ben seeks the answer to this
question he should first ask do most Americans even care about conservatism?
I claim they don't!
I agree conservatism will lead to superior governance, but how much
conservatism have we seen from self-professed conservatives, including the
last two GOP presidents!
Shapiro's focus is on Trump's temperament which he claims is a concern. But, campaigning is not governing. It is "theater', and Trump is using it to the max.
Candidates are actors, playing whatever role they believe is best to win.
As for Trump's 'problem', it may really be Ben's problem. I have not seen such
stories about Trump's temperament. If there were any surely the media would
have reported them in the forty years he has been in business.
I doubt Ben can cite how Trump's temperament cost him business. In fact, two outstanding executives, Carl Icahn and Bernie Marcus, have endorsed him.
I doubt Ben can cite how Trump's temperament cost him business. In fact, two outstanding executives, Carl Icahn and Bernie Marcus, have endorsed him.
This 'temperament' issue comes from three sources, media, Democrats and
disgruntled conservatives. Yes, there is no telling how Trump will
behave, but we know what matters most is what he says he will do to address serious problems people care about!
No matter, he will be attacked, which leads to a response, and his "temperament".
No matter, he will be attacked, which leads to a response, and his "temperament".
Trump is a whole lot more that a man with a personality, he is someone
the majority of the electorate believe is the best person to defend the
nation and fix the economy!
As to the opening salvo by Shapiro, Trump's "attack" on the Kahn family, I found it was not an attack, only a comment.
In fact, Mr. Kahn misrepresented what Donald Trump has said time and again, migrants from Muslim nations need to be carefully vetted before entering our country. There is nothing wrong with this!
Khan, a immigration lawyer working to bring Muslims here, which is rarely reported, is not the typical grieving parent who lost his child in combat. He used the DNC appearance to attack Trump and open the door for Trump to comment, which

he did
mentioning of Mrs. Kahn when he stated,
“She probably, maybe she wasn’t allowed to have anything to say”
Is this really unusual for someone not of a faith to misunderstand behavior? Shapiro jumped at this chance, as he does at any chance to go after Trump.
Is this really unusual for someone not of a faith to misunderstand behavior? Shapiro jumped at this chance, as he does at any chance to go after Trump.
Shapiro goes on to say Trump made an incorrect comment that Putin did
not invade Ukraine. Putin would agree with Trump, Russia invaded Crimea which Putin believes is not part of Ukraine!
Shapiro continues Trump is "wildly
unpalatable, by any normal conservative or
rational standard" If this is true why are his rallies so large? Is Ben concluding no conservatives attend! Shapiro's conservative logic seems to go into hibernation
when Trump comes to mind.
Nor is anyone, conservative or not, under any 'pressure' to pull the
lever for Trump as Ben wants readers to believe. Voting this year is as
simple as its always been, varying by how individuals decide, each
voting for the candidate they prefer or their party's choice.
I don't recall similar 'pressure' to pull the lever for Romney, even though millions fewer voted for him than McCain in 2008. Would Ben say the Evangelical vote, which dropped, cost Romney the election in 2012!
Its the crony capitalists and political establishment who should be concerned, not conservatives unless they are also crony capitalists!
Shapiro mentions Trump's trade policy could lead to recession which is an unfounded scare tactic of globalists. (Jeb tried this at debate, and it fell flat)
Shapiro also contends Trump doesn't listen to anyone. How does Ben know this?
Shapiro warns of Trump's ignorance of the Constitution. Based on recent rulings, which of the sitting SCOTUS know it!
Shapiro warns of Trump's ignorance of the Constitution. Based on recent rulings, which of the sitting SCOTUS know it!
He dismisses Trump offering jurists he'd consider, none of which have been tarred as weak! Don't expect Hillary to be so forthcoming.
What was really surprising to see Shapiro say Trump would not "stake
political capital on a losing fight against a Democratic filibuster". If
nothing else, Trump is always itching for a fight when provoked!
Then Shapiro takes us down 'memory lane' with the Souter selection,
another tactic to make conservatives fearful. Ben was careful not the mention Harriet Myers that President Bush tried to pass conservative muster!
And, Trump's apparent indifference to losing the Senate. Based on the failure of
McConnell, not much of a lose. In fact, Trump may be the only person to
end gridlock without the GOP being on the losing end.
The next blast about Trump is turning the conservative 'movement',
currently going at a snail's pace, into a "nationalist populist" one!
Even if Trump has this vision, is it wrong? Wouldn't this be better
than the 'conservative-progressive' global cabal?
If the globalists prevail, we might as well tear up the Constitution!
I believe Shapiro's fear of Trump shows his lack of confidence in the
conservative movement that has been stonewalled by the GOP establishment
beginning with the resistance to the Tea Party.
Don't expect a Trump presidency to continue the downward dissent begun
by Obama and surely will continue under Hillary on a path towards
globalist governance, strengthening Middle East despots and
shortchanging American workers!
Trump will not 'depress the accelerator', he will turn the "wheel" and take our country uphill so the American people can once again see Reagan's "shiny city on a hill", not continue to be haunted by a broken country, divided, with little light and even less hope!
Ben needs to understand the GOP didn't create Trump no more than it created the Tea Party. It has been the failure of government that guarantees change, and Donald Trump represents this change!

Who are these "Second Amendment People"?
Who are these "Second Amendment People"?
This a question needing to be asked after Donald Trump spoke
of them at a recent NC rally and the media pounced on his
words, seeking another pound of his political flesh!
They said Trump was giving a warning they should be feared!
As someone who is and knows countless "Second Amendment
People" I am not in fear of them! And for the simple reason,
stereo-typing is the antithesis of who each American is!
But, the media is stereo-typing "Second Amendment People",
warning anyone without the good sense to tune out nonsense,
gun owners are a threat!
Even Hillary Clinton made the extraordinary leap Donald Trump
was subtly telling "Second Amendment People"to commit crimes.
But Hillary's ignorance was on full display in a town hall in
NH last fall when she said, “...I would love to see is gun
owners, responsible gun owners, hunters form a different
organization and take back the Second Amendment from these
extremists.(referring the NRA)”
Apparently, when Hillary was in law school she missed the
class on the Second Amendment. Madison did not include it
to allow people to hunt, it was to give them the right to
protect themselves!
I won't waste words explaining Trump's message to those too
dumb to figure it out for themselves, other than say its
another feeble attempt to avoid a discussion of issues!
For those in the media and political world pushing this lie,
think back to the stereotyping done towards the Cambridge, MA
police force on July 23, 2009.
It occurred at the White House when President Obama said the
"police acted stupidly" when an office responded to a 911 call
and questioned a home owner. Obama said this without even
knowing what had occurred or the circumstances. Stereo-typing
by the president of the United States!
There was no outcry President Obama was 'stereo-typing' all
police, but he was!
We can now go a step further, after reviewing the seven years
of President Obama's own rhetoric; he does not think highly of
law enforcement!
Still, we have the media and political opportunists attempting
to create a false impression about millions of American citizens
who appreciate and want to protect not only their right to own
a firearm but the other amendments which make up the Bill of Rights!

To all Donald Trump's security expert critics
It was not happenstance "Freedom of Speech" was the First Amendment
in the Bill of Rights, it was important to its author, James Madison.
So, Trump supporters should put their minds at ease and not take issue
that prominent highly respected security experts submitted an open letter
denouncing Donald Trump and said they would not support him.
This is their right, to speak out, even if it troubles us.
However, Trump's supporters have every right to take exception that a similar
letter was never authored by these deeply concerned experts, one that would
have denounced the many failures of President Obama that created upheaval
all across the Middle East.
President Obama and Secy of State Hillary Clinton were instrumental in the
undoing of the stability President Bush left, guided by THEIR council!.
It was the commitments President Obama broke that allowed the Middle East
to become a war zone, costing the lives of citizens either killed by terrorists or
Obama's "drone war".
Apparently these "prominent security experts" did not feel equally compelled to
denounce a sitting president who made the fight against terrorism harder today
than it was eight years ago.
Were they all asleep? Did they not care enough then as they do now?
Add to this President Obama deciding not to meet our missile defense commitment
to Eastern Europe. Is it any wonder Putin has become more emboldened during the
Obama Administration!
I consider the letter they published an effort in pompous grand standing with little
value other than hurt the Trump campaign.
But, I do wonder, will these experts also denounce Hillary Clinton who has already
demonstrated she is not fit to be the next president as well.
Don't count on such a letter any time soon, these expert must get back to sleep!

We also need to remember most of these professional security experts endorsed Jeb Bush and served his brother
President Bush, so to believe they there wasn't any partisan leanings is naive at best.
Their letter was another example of pompous and arrogant grandstanding with a single intent, destroy the Trump candidacy,
as was the 'special edition' of the National Review magazine which failed even before the ink was dry!
No matter the desire of the majority of the Republican electorate, these elitists snobs couldn't care less that Trump is the
only one bold enough to address issues politicians pass from one generation to the next.

How Common Core was 'sold' to the American people.
When I first heard of Common Core, the national education standard, promoted by
the Department of Education, it was soon after it was adopted by forty-five states.
I didn't think much of the overwhelming support until I learned Common Core was
never tested. Now, the decision had my attention, why would so many states adopt
an untested program?
I learned the USDOE applied a bait and switch using federal funding for an education
program not even associated with the Common Core standard.
Four billion dollars had been allocated for distribution to the states for Race to the Top,
an education innovation initiative they were anxious to receive.
However, when the push to implement Common Core needed a 'boost', it came in the
form of a threat, the lose of promised funds unless it was adopted!
One by one states agreed to replace their own standards and replace them with
Common Core. Never mind public school teachers were not trained, nor universities
altering education curriculum to prepare their graduates.
I even asked an educator from Massachusetts, "Why would the state replace the best
rated education program in the nation with Common Core?" She answered, without
hesitation, "for $250 million" !
In fact, to "assure" the public the USDOE created a 'Validation Committee', a group
of twenty-nine education professionals to review and sign off on the standard.
On the committee only two were educators, one in Math, the other in English. When
the committee completed its work, only twenty-four signed off, five refused, including
the two educators.
The final report is available on the USDOE website, but don't expect to find the concerns
of those who refused to sign off. They were purged!
Since adoption in 2009, across the country, an informal 'army' was created, primarily
made up of parents and teachers who saw first hand the problems with Common Core.
From coast to coast groups were formed, to petition legislators to end and replace it
with a standard that meets the needs of children not the demands of an industry which
was once a vocation.
Fully replacing Common Core will not be an easy task, entrenched business interests
are dogged in retaining it.
Interesting, one of the issues Donald Trump has been campaigning on from the beginning,
getting rid of Common Core. This message may not get much airing, but the public should
take note, no one is defending Common Core!
Those in the 'army' to end Common Core fully understand the importance states once
again use its own standard which drive the curriculum they use!

Can Donald Trump withstand the 'kitchen sink'?
"Everything accept the kitchen sink!" We've all heard this said, but for
over a year we have seen it first hand!
I'm speaking of the coordinated effort to prevent Donald Trump from
becoming our next president.
Trump is being attacked from all quarters as 'unworthy" of the highest
office in the land, by an establishment, the powerful group, singularly
governing, disguised as unique political parties, that fear Trump winning,
with good reason, at least to them.
Donald Trump is a threat and no matter how many millions have voted
for him in the primaries, the Republican establishment seek to destroy
his candidacy.
Both Republicans and Democrats have done quite well, no matter
how anemic the economy, millions working in part time jobs, annual
budget deficits, highest debt ceiling in history, and terrorism no longer
on our doorstep, its inside our country.
None of this seems to matter as this establishment is safe, far removed
from America's problems as they reside in the most expensive and
well-protected area of our country, Washington, DC.
What Trump is campaigning on is resonating to his supporters who
continue to flock to his rallies. But, deeply concerning to his foes.
His supporters want better border security and if a wall must be part of
the solution, Trump will get it built.
His foes, who have profit-ted on the infusion of labor from the South
want the additional supply of workers that drove down the cost of labor
to continue.
Trump supporters want 'smarter' trade deals, not ones that benefit our
trade partners in Asia for nearly $1 trillion dollars annually.
Trump foes, who have reaped huge windfalls with offshore operations
by American companies, like things just the way they are.
Trump supporters want stronger security against the domestic terrorism
which is no longer a threat, it has become a reality on multiple occasions.
Trump supporters want local and state control of education, not the
dictates and mandates by our national government.
Trump foes view education as an 'industry', benefiting self interests
such as teacher unions, Common Core contractors, while only marginal
improvements in education are being made.
Trump supporters want safety to return to crime ridden communities,
and desire a president who will stand up for law enforcement.
Trump foes do not care about what is going on in the most dangerous
cities, and the anarchy and attacks on police throughout our country.
Trump supporters want a president who will ensure an individual can
own a firearm, not restricted further.
Trump foes could care less about 'gun rights', they are protected in
the bubble they live in.
Trump supporters know the United States for too long has shouldered
the responsibility and costs in lives and payments protecting its sallies
and want them to pay for the protection we provide.
Trump foes have distorted Trump's position, attempting strike fear by
saying he wants to destroy foreign alliances.
Trump supporters believe he is the only one talking about the increase
of drug use in expected places as Chicago and the most unexpected
such as New Hampshire and is committed to stop the flow from Mexico
by the cartels who have found a home here due to our porous border.
Trump foes refuse to even talk about the rise in drug use just as they
refuse to mention two thousand people are murdered each year in
our most crime-ridden cities.
As we see, millions like the message of this man called "unworthy"
for the presidency.
When the media draws a comparison between Donal Trump's
supporters and his foes, all the world will see the establishment
is unworthy, not him!
Perhaps, we are seeing someone who can defeat the Washington
and Wall St. establish, even when they throw the kitchen sink!
