Chicago...That Toddlin' Town!
of the song about America's second city, Chicago. It came to mind
while watching the protests in Chicago of the Donald Trump rally.
I was curious of its meaning of the word, and looked it up,
"to walk with short, unsteady steps, leisurely; stroll".
It seemed fitting as protesters "toddled" into the arena, hours
before the event, spread themselves throughout awaiting the
agreed upon time to begin their protest designed to do much
more, cause mayhem.
Everything went according to plan and I am sure the protesters
thought their efforts were successful, the rally was canceled.
But, stopping a rally is one thing, stopping a "movement", which
Trump calls his political campaign, is another matter. Time will
tell whether the movement will be halted or grow even stronger.
Tactics demonstrated in Chicago last night are nothing new, they
occur each time self described civil rights provocateurs see value
in shutting down dissent!
Chicago proved once again it will always remain the "second city",
where anarchy rules each time political gain can be seen.
To be "first" would require something rarely seen in Chicago, class,
long missing in the Windy City!
