The "bulls eye" is on Donald Trump, but Ted Cruz should not be comforted.
If Trump goes down, he is next.
Listening to "one state wonder" John Kasich tell his supporters he is going all
the way to Cleveland, where the Republican Convention will be held, makes
me wonder. Is he delusional, or does Kasich know something most of us don't?
If the GOP establishment has designs on forcing Kasich on the delegates in
Cleveland Trump and Cruz better be prepared.
What better way to out maneuver the establishment than uniting now. They

What better way to out maneuver the establishment than uniting now. They
both have the electoral advantage over Kasich and should end the folly of his
campaign that would also kill the appetite for anyone else to jump in.
Deal maker Trump should ask Cruz to suspend his campaign and accept the
VP slot. If they agree the electoral advantage becomes even stronger and will
dramatically affect the remaining primaries including several larger ones.
This might sour supporters of Cruz but the objective is to win the presidency
and both know the election and direction of the country hang in the balance.
Despite the differences Trump and Cruz have much more in common than the
electorate may realize. In fact, they are more alike than Reagan and Bush in
1980 were!
Trump and Cruz campaigned they would destroy the Washington cartel. This
Trump and Cruz campaigned they would destroy the Washington cartel. This
alone has put them in the cross hairs of the establishment. And even though
Trump used the system as a businessman he understands the underbelly of
the beast needs to be destroyed. So does Ted Cruz.
Cruz believes in Constitutional governance, with more governing authority going
back to the states, including eliminating several Federal agencies. Trump, as a
businessman, has seen the entanglements first hand, having gone through both
federal and state agencies, when satisfying the state requirements is enough.
Both want to stop illegal immigration. Trump is more provocative saying he will
build a wall, while Cruz wants current law seriously enforced and not allow states
to skirt the law as they have done with sanctuaries.
Trump and Cruz both believe the Trans Pacific trade deal will hurt American
workers, a major issue which benefited them in the early primaries.
Both men said they would "tear up" the Iran deal and ensure no nuclear arsenal
is developed.

Both agree public education should be controlled locally and Common Core
needs to be replaced.
Trump and Cruz provide a perfect mix of business and political experience. They
understand the problems from different vantage points.
An alliance now could be the move that will "checkmate" the Republican establishment
before it takes its first move.
