Has Christianity been lost on the Catholic Church?

The Catholic Church, or at least its surrogates, weighed in on this year's
presidential election.

In a blast email circulating across the Internet,

"An Open Letter to Catholics, and all People of Good Will"

a letter authored Robert P. George, McCormick Professor of
Jurisprudence Princeton University and George Weigel Senior
Fellow and  William E. Simon Chair in Catholic Studies Ethics and
Public Policy Center offered an appeal of why Donald Trump should
not be elected president.  Similar argument can be found on this link:
https://www.catholicvote.org/nottrump/

Yes, Donald Trump has created quite a political stir and every
concerned group has the right to weigh in, but the Catholic Church
is not "every concerned group",

The Catholic Church's desire to be part of the citizenry crosses a line
which is troublesome, a line the Church itself fights to prevent our
govt. from crossing as well!

This letter detailed reasons Trump should be rejected including
his positions on immigration, refugees and even his temperament.
But, 'Catholic Vote' should do some "soul searching" of its own.

As the Catholic Church wants its faithful to reject Trump, I have yet
to see any similar rejection of candidates who advance abortion on
demand and gay marriage!

Where is the "open letter" stating candidates who support late term
abortions,  butchery and organ harvesting should also be rejected.

The same argument can be made about candidates who support
gay marriage.

If you are looking for such a letter, stop looking!  You will not find it.

The Catholic Church has become part and parcel of the world wide
political establishment most Americans are fed up with.

The Catholic Church must be reminded what Christ told his followers,
"Render unto Caesar things that are Caesar's, and unto God things  that are God's",
a lesson lost on today's religious 'establishment'
