Vocation of "political punditry", at risk in Washington

Bill Kristol said "I've always liked and respected Jeff Sessions. But defending Trump really is a recipe for sounding like a fool."

Kristol's statement says a lot.  It tells anyone who knows Jeff Sessions how desperate people
like Kristol are willing to impugn anyone who supports Donald Trump, even someone like
Sessions, a rare, one of the 'best and brightest' , and most principled members serving in
Congress. Kristol's comment makes him appear the fool!

Bill Kristol is no fool, he is smart, and its disappointing he is engaged in 'high brow' political
assassination guided by his refusal to accept that someone outside a 'members only' sphere
of influence could be our next president! With Kristol's remarks, a well hidden character flaw
has come to the surface.

Such character assassination Republicans expect from Democrats, but our confidence in
our beliefs never drove us to do this, not until Trump. He became a threat to the conservative
establishment that quickly learned they could not defeat him with their flawed argument and
went to the Democrat playbook!

Kristol's remarks are not really about Trump, its about what he represents. His candidacy
is a direct threat to the comfortable livelihood members of the cottage industry found in our
nation's capital, that "political punditry" enjoy.

The wisdom of the punditry class is finally being exposed for the fraud it is. For years they
have profited by being alarmists, warning of the death of conservatism, even though "true
conservatism" began its slow descent when the reigns of  Reagan conservatism were
handed over to his vice president, George Bush in 1988 who grew government as did
every president since!

But, their concern over Trump directs attention away from their greater fear, lose of lucrative
livelihoods punditry provides.

Conservative magazines such as the "Weekly Standard", which Kristol founded and remains
its editor and the "National Review" have very little influence based on the growth of
government since Reagan left office.

Most Americans read neither magazine or are familiar with writers such as Thomas Sowell,
or Rick Lowry who also warn of Trump threat to conservatism.

Kristol and others have carved out the soul of conservatism and filled the space with
"globalism" which is the cancer killing American Exceptionalism Reagan reminded us of.

In fact, the "National Review" published an entire issue attacking Donald Trump in an attempt
to destroy his campaign. This is how these sentinels to protect conservatism operate. The
result of this journalistic attack, Trump's polling went even higher!

The "political punditry" refuse to acknowledge the battlefield is not in Washington, DC despite
Kristol, Lowry, editor of the National Review and others insisting it is. They remain adamant
our capital is ground zero to win the presidency.

Believing this is foolish, its putting political desires before the people's choice. Candidates
traveling the country, engaging American people is what it takes to become president, not
a 'coronation' as we see on the Democrat side, or approval of a Republican 'House of Lords'!

Trump learned more about the American people in less than a year as a political candidate
then Kristol and other members of "political punditry" have learned in decades!

Lastly, all the 'sky is falling' rhetoric that the Republican Party is being destroyed avoids what
is actually going on.  GOP membership has increased, and independents who left both
parties and registering as Republicans.

Trump is rebuilding the Republican Party as Reagan did in 1980, which must be difficult for
Kristol and others to accept.
