What is "True Conservatism"?

It is difficult to avoid a conservative when attending a Republican event.
Walk up to anyone and ask, most likely this will be his reply. Nor will
anyone say they are a member of the "establishment" or "moderate".
Nope! Conservatives will abound!

Unlike Democrats who shunned the Liberal label for the "catchy" Progressive
one, Republicans refuse to take off the conservative badge, and either actually
believe they are or have no idea what conservatism is!

But, a label only gets you so far. The true test for a political party is the answer
to the question, "what have you done for me lately".  Unfortunately, when using
a conservative yardstick, the answer is "Not Much"!

This "yardstick" is measured through A, B and C, as shown.

A. If  "true conservatism" means limited govt. where is the evidence we have one,
especially under Republican leadership?  Govt. has more employees, authority,
agencies, regulations, programs and higher budgets than at anytime in our history,
with no attempt to stop it!
 
This is what Democrats desire, expanse of national governance.

B. If "true conservatism" means being fiscally responsible this evidence cannot be
found either as both parties spend recklessly. The nation now has the largest debt
in its history with annual budget deficits increasing the debt year after year.

This is what Democrats desire, using national debt to fund a socialist state.

C. If "true conservatism" means sovereign states remain independent from overreach
by the national govt., again, no evidence to support this claim, as Republicans joined Democrats to overburden the states. States are no longer sovereign or independent,
they are subservient to the demands of the national govt., depending on the
'generosity' of the US Treasury "fed" by the labor of each states citizens.

This is what Democrats desire, keeping states under the national govt. thumb.

The next time you are told this is a conservative nation, look around. It will be hard
to prove it is.  What you will see is the contrary, easy to find as saying  "A, B, C"
