NC GOP removes Harnett as chairman

There is no need to look to Washington to see how the political establishment works.
We can find the "process" running right here in North Carolina.

The state Republican Party has finally dispatched its first elected Black chairman,
Hasan Harnett, the conclusion of a lengthy process that took away from the work
of winning the next election.

This was the culmination of yet another episode of the disconnect between the
party leaders and its members. Not much different between the people we elect
and their constituents.

I am not writing to defend Mr. Harnett, only offer a view on a  process which was
clouded with secrecy, discrediting leaks and unprofessionalism,  not worthy of the
party or the good people who voted for him.

We don't even know what "violating the party's plan or organization and "gross
inefficiency.". Don't we deserve to know?

I don't know much about the inner working of the party, but from what I see, its
duplicitous at best.  Perhaps, this is reason enough the party should change how
it operates so members  know what to expect from its leadership.

For example. I thought the party chair had authority. I had no idea the position was
toothless, merely ceremonial. I am sure members who voted for Mr. Harnett
thought the election meant something. We now see it does not!

Perhaps the first thing we should do would be to eliminate the chairman's position
or make it worthy of the electorate!
