Reports of our death has been greatly exaggerated!

As a rule of thumb, when you hear the same line without evidence, its probably wrong.

I bring this up as the "line" we are hearing from the media has been the Republican Party
 is on its last leg and will soon be dead. This is what the political tea leave readers
are trying to sell us.

Don't believe it!

The party IS alive, although it is not well. But, the party was not well last year, or for the last two decades. Party leadership lost its bearings years ago, being driven on a course set by donors and benefactors, not the 55 million registered Republicans.

But, that has all changed. This unusual, for lack of a better word, presidential campaign has given life to the nominating process unseen since Reagan defeated the 1980 GOP establishment, although without social media no one saw how Reagan won the battle.

But, today, everyone sees it. And its not just Trump, its also Cruz, and also the 'against
the political grain' view on issues such as free trade, border security, US role in NATO
and the UN, even streamlining and closing some Federal agencies.

The Establishment will have none of this, yet "THIS" is what the primary voters are clamoring for, and they may get it!

The Republican Party has life and vitality thanks to knock down and drag out primary battles. More people are voting for Republican candidate, and the big money back establishment candidates are now gone.

The status quo leadership and influence peddlers may be dying but not party. It is not
dying anytime soon, the electorate will not let it happen.
