North Carolina made national news when it passed legislation which
invalidated a Charlotte ordinance that allows men and women to
use the restroom of their choice riling up the LGBT community,
led some cities and states to boycott NC and dozens of companies
to issue statements condemning it as 'discriminatory', which it is not!

What is interesting, in NC, now considered "anti-gay" we have seen
nothing more than protests. If the state is as bad as critics want
the uninformed to believe why aren't people departing?

Where is the Exodus of members of the LGBT community who
claim they are treated unfairly? How can they live their lives in
such a "backwards thinking state" or endure the injustice and the
blatant discrimination?

The truth is, none of this drivel is true. The LGBT community
has reaped the benefit living in a progressive state which has
grown to 9th most populous.

NC is progressive not in the political sense, but in its approach to
providing opportunities for all. Major universities, strong medical
and technology companies, a retirement mecca all lend to the
success of our state.

Keep in mind the true Exodus has been occurring for several
decades from the very places now boycotting NC. People
"vote" with their feet which is why so many of them now
living in NC came from NY and CT two which now chide us!

The local companies who have bemoaned the legislation miss
an important point. Companies such as Red Hat, Wells Fargo
and Bank of America can have any accommodation THEY desire,
without a govt. mandate, which is what Charlotte decided to do,
after a similar ordinance failed two years earlier. And without the
political furor!

Grandstanding is expected in the world of political theater, but
my expectation was that business leaders were smarter and do
not offer knee-jerk reaction immediately without thoughtfully
appreciating why it was done.

To those who believe living and running businesses are better
elsewhere, there is no wall on the NC borders.

Let the Exodus begin!!!
